program

Explore Shali, Ancient Temples, and Majestic Tombs in a Day

The Morning Start

  • Early Morning: We’ll pick you up right in front of your hotel. Settle in for the ride as we head toward the oasis!

  • The Fortress of Shali: Our first stop is the "City of Salt." Wander through the remains of this ancient citadel. Some buildings are still in use today, but because they are built from Kershef (a unique mix of salt and mud), they have a fascinating, "melted" dilapidated look.

🏛️ Ancient Legends & Healing Waters

  • Temple of Amun: Step back into the 30th Dynasty! This is the very temple famously visited by Alexander the Great to consult the oracle.

  • The Salt Lakes: Time to float! Take a dip in the turquoise salt lakes—the salt content is so high you’ll bob effortlessly on the surface.

  • Mount Dakrur: We’ll visit the famous "Mountain of Atonement," known for its incredible views and its history of sand-bath healing.

🥗 Siwan Flavors & Relaxation

  • Traditional Lunch: We’ll stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious, authentic meal.

  • Cleopatra’s Spring: After lunch, we head to this natural stone pool. Feel free to relax at a local cafe nearby and soak in the peaceful oasis vibes.

🏺 Afternoon: The City of the Dead

  • Mountain of the Dead (Gabal al-Mawta): Our final stop is a hillside honeycombed with over 2,000 tombs.

  • The Tomb of Si-Amun: Don't miss this highlight! It is richly decorated with vibrant paintings showing Si-Amun performing ancient rituals.

🚌 The Journey Back

  • 15:30 (3:30 PM): We wrap up our sightseeing program.

  • 21:00 (9:00 PM): Approximate return to your hotel (this may vary depending on your hotel's specific location).
